Documents Platform was founded in London in 2020 by people who had watched too many "auditable" workflows fail an actual audit.
Our co-founders met in a windowless conference room at a magic-circle firm, on the third week of a financial-services audit that had run long because the document trail couldn't be reconstructed without a forensic accountant. Versions were scattered across three SharePoint tenants, signatures sat in two e-signing tools, and the engagement letter had been amended over email. The records existed. The story they told didn't hold together.
That was the spring of 2019. By the autumn we'd started sketching what a document workspace built for the people who actually have to defend the trail might look like — not the user, not the counterparty, but the records officer, the auditor, the regulator's investigator. We launched in 2020 with three customers, two of them firms our founders had previously worked at, who knew what they were getting.
A team of about thirty, based out of an office on Crown Place in London with members in Edinburgh, Lisbon, and Zürich.
Previously a product lead at iManage and earlier a paralegal at a Magic Circle firm. Cares about engagement letters more than is normal.
Spent six years on signing-platform engineering, including the team that wrote the long-term validation pipeline. Reads cryptography papers for fun.
